The rise of the Internet of Things has facilitated a staggering proliferation of internet-connected devices, which will number 24 billion-or four devices per human being-by 2020. Early networks consisted of devices connected on a single switch sharing a broadcast area. There’s no denying it-networking has simultaneously become both more complex and more critical to business operations and everyday functioning.
